The Nujiang Four-Lane Extra-Large Bridge is located at the junction of Shidian County and Longling County in Baoshan City, Yunnan Province. It is 1,024 meters long, 230 meters high from the river surface to the bridge deck, and 24.9 meters wide. It is designed as a four-lane station bridge. The total steel consumption of the bridge is 46,000 tons, which is equivalent to the steel consumption of 6.5 Eiffel Towers in Paris.

It is reported that the bridge connects Gaoligongshan Tunnel at one end and Jingangyuan Tunnel at the other end. Affected by the topography, the main span of the bridge adopts a steel truss arch with a span of 490 meters. It flies over the Nujiang River and the canyon area in one span. It is currently the largest span of the same type of railway bridge in the world, and has accumulated valuable experience for the design, scientific research and construction of new structural bridges under complex conditions in my country.

Due to the limitations of the environment and terrain, the Nujiang Station can only be built on the bridge. For this reason, the width and bearing capacity of the bridge are much greater than those of ordinary railway bridges. There is no precedent in the history of railway bridges in the world to build such a large-span, large-scale four-line railway station bridge.

After completion and opening to traffic, the driving time from Dali to Ruili will be shortened from the current 6 hours on the road to about 2 hours, which will greatly improve the transportation pattern in western Yunnan, end the history of no trains in Baoshan City, Yunnan Province and Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, and play a positive role in promoting economic and trade cooperation and friendly exchanges between my country and ASEAN countries.
