Is it better to raise chickens in an open chicken house or a closed chicken house?
The advantages of an open chicken house are a simple design, low cost, energy saving, and low investment. In the case of a playground and feed, the requirements for the feed are not very strict, and the chickens can move frequently and have good adaptability, have a strong physique.
The disadvantage is that the physiological condition and production performance of chickens are affected by changes in external conditions. Chickens are more likely to be infected with diseases through various channels such as insects, birds, soil, and air.
The advantage of semi-enclosed chicken houses is that when natural conditions such as light and temperature are suitable for the growth of chickens, just like open chicken houses, the use of natural conditions can meet the growth and production of chickens. When the natural conditions are not suitable, such as when the temperature is low, the heating equipment can be activated to provide a suitable temperature for the chickens; when the temperature is too high, the cooling equipment and ventilation equipment can be activated to cool down and ventilate the chicken house, so that it can provide a suitable environment for chicken production.
The disadvantage is: the sealing is relatively poor, and when ventilation is used to cool down, the effect is not as good as that of the closed house.
The advantage of the closed chicken house is that the roof and the four walls are well insulated, and have good thermal insulation capabilities, which can eliminate or reduce the impact of some unfavorable natural factors on the chickens, and provide a more suitable living and production environment for the chickens;
The disadvantages are high investment, higher building standards, and more auxiliary equipment; high stocking density, and high probability of chickens infecting each other; ventilation, lighting, feeding, and drinking water all rely on electricity, requiring a reliable power supply, otherwise, in the event of a power outage, it will have a serious impact on chicken production.
